Traveling and exploring new places can be hard enough without a disability. As you know I’m not disabled, so I really can’t speak to the daily challenges one may face. I can however share and pass along some useful tools I have been given - specifically apps.

When I hear how many people don’t enjoy cruising as much as I do, I’m naturally curious as to why. Unfortunately, if it’s someone’s first cruise, they may choose to never cruise again. If that’s you - read on. I hope to give you some tips and a different perspective, so hopefully you’ll give cruising another chance. If cruising isn’t your thing (yet) also read on as some of these can transfer into other forms of traveling. Not only am I going to cover common mistakes I’ve learned, but also give you solutions on how to avoid them.

With that being said, Norwegian Prima is the first release in a series of 6 ships where NCL is reinventing the look, feel and overall experience of their ships. They want to offer more wide-open spaces such as a glass bottom walkway around the front of the ship on Deck 8. When you first walk onto the ship, just like other ocean cruise lines, the first thing you see is their main atrium. Prima’s atrium is very different from other NCL ships.

I saved the best for last - the Summit One Vanderbilt experience. This tourist attraction is thoughtfully laid out from the very beginning. You will need to purchase advance timed tickets. They do not take walk ups. It’s a family friendly, fun-for-all ages experience. Each room and floor offer a different perspective of the city views. Get your cameras ready for all your fun social media pictures.

The city’s energy is inviting and there’s so much to explore. Not to mention their mild climate (only 1-2 days of snow/year) makes visiting year-round possible. Vancouver Island is a family & pet friendly area. It’s also known as the newly wed capital of Canada.
