You’ve decided to finally take your first cruise! Your reservation is confirmed and now you have questions. Lots of questions. We’ve all been there, so here are my top tips for new cruisers. Even if you’ve been on many cruises, use this list as a reminder to help you prepare for your next cruise. This part might not be fun and exciting, but it may make a difference, when you arrive at your cruise port.

The islands of New Zealand have 16 distinct regions across the two main islands offering much for travelers to delight in. The indigenous people of New Zealand are known as the Māori and I encourage you to take some time to learn about their culture and history, during your visit. There are many museums, cultural sites, and performances available to learn about this beautiful culture.

Since Australia is on many people’s bucket lists, I thought it would be helpful to talk about some of the ways you can explore this vast country. From wineries, to culture, history, art, nature etc there’s sure to be something for everyone.

Cruises are a wonderful way to see the world and there are some helpful things to know to get the most out of your vacation. Even if you’ve been on many cruises before, you’ll likely benefit from the tips I’m about to share.

Traveling and exploring new places can be hard enough without a disability. As you know I’m not disabled, so I really can’t speak to the daily challenges one may face. I can however share and pass along some useful tools I have been given - specifically apps.

With that being said, Norwegian Prima is the first release in a series of 6 ships where NCL is reinventing the look, feel and overall experience of their ships. They want to offer more wide-open spaces such as a glass bottom walkway around the front of the ship on Deck 8. When you first walk onto the ship, just like other ocean cruise lines, the first thing you see is their main atrium. Prima’s atrium is very different from other NCL ships.

I saved the best for last - the Summit One Vanderbilt experience. This tourist attraction is thoughtfully laid out from the very beginning. You will need to purchase advance timed tickets. They do not take walk ups. It’s a family friendly, fun-for-all ages experience. Each room and floor offer a different perspective of the city views. Get your cameras ready for all your fun social media pictures.
