New ETA Travel Requirement for the U.K.

Stonehenge U.K.

If you’re planning to visit the U.K., there’s an important new requirement you’ll want to be aware of. Starting January 8, 2025, travelers staying in the U.K. for less than six months will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter the country.

What is an ETA?

An ETA is not a visa, but rather an authorization electronically linked to your passport. It’s valid for up to two years and allows for multiple entries into the U.K. However, if you receive a new passport, you’ll need to apply for a new ETA.

How to Apply

Starting November 27, 2024, travelers can submit their ETA applications online. Once approved, your ETA confirmation will be sent to you electronically, making the process seamless and efficient.
